The art of Provencal living
Near Lourmarin, the 25 rooms and suites at Domaine de Fontenille embody a warm, refined art of living, combining Provencal elegance with contemporary design. Spacious, bright and mostly overlooking the park, they all share the same soothing aesthetic: natural tones, solid wood, fine parquet flooring, cosy sofas and a hushed ambience. The six new rooms, recently fitted out in the historic bastide, extend this signature while infusing it with a modern touch: light wood, linen, stone and ceramics dialogue harmoniously with glass and metal, for a luminous, authentic atmosphere.
Rediscover the Domaine de Fontenille
Nine years after opening in Lauris, Fontenille's decoration has evolved in a more floral and resolutely Provencal spirit, paying homage to the region's softness and rich vegetation. The Domaine has reinvented itself with the creation of new rooms in the bastide and completely redesigned living spaces - lounges, bar and restaurant. In the lounges, floral wallpapers by Pierre Frey and Sandberg interact in a play of colorful superimpositions. The seats, chosen from Caravane Paris and Midi Éditions, are adorned with luminous, powdery tones that add a touch of contemporary freshness.
Between heritage and local crafts
The furniture has been enhanced by natural wood pieces signed by Marseille designer Margaux Keller, as well as oak and straw armchairs and radassiers by Midi Éditions, typical of Provencal art de vivre. The interior decor also features handcrafted works: delicate ceramics by Judith Philibert, an artist based near the Domaine, and poetic light fixtures by Enamoura and Margaux Keller punctuate the spaces with their singular charm. This renovation is part of a desire to unite the soul of the place with the creative impetus of the South, to offer every visitor an immersion in an authentic and refined Luberon.
